How will you find the right caregiver for our family?

During the initial assessment, we gather detailed information about your loved one, including their living situation, an estimate of how much care they will require, what type of assistance they would benefit from and any specific preferences they have regarding caregiver selection (gender, language spoken, etc.). We then review our roster of available staff to find a perfect match. On the first day of home care, a member of our team will be present to make introductions and ensure a smooth start.

How do you recruit/select your caregivers?

Families can be reassured knowing that their needs will be met by highly trained nurses and home health aides. All staff undergo a pre-employment screening that includes previous employment verification, employment references, skills assessment, and criminal background checks. On-going evaluations take place to assure that your loved one receives consistent quality care.

Do you train your caregivers?

Yes, extensively. We start by hiring caregivers who have experience working in healthcare. New caregivers complete an orientation training that includes topics such as OnSite LifeCare’s processes, standards and core values, the rights of clients, infection control, client care tips and more. We provide on-going education and evaluations of skills competency.

What can I expect in a typical day with my caregiver?

It depends on the type of service you have requested. It might include grocery shopping and running errands in the morning, preparing and eating lunch, preparing dinner for later, and going for a walk and playing games in the afternoon. We also have many activities available for our caregivers to check out from our Client Resource Library, including mind-stimulating programs for our clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

What happens if our caregiver gets sick or can't come that day?

On days when your caregiver is unavailable, we will call to notify you of the situation, as soon as we know there is an issue. Every effort will be made to find a substitute who is also a great match for your loved one. Our goal is to not disrupt your daily schedule and make sure that services continue in a smooth manner.

What are the Home Health Care Payment Options?

The responsibility of arranging for care of loved ones, working with insurance companies, paying bills and obtaining health coverage can be a burden.

OnSite LifeCare wants to minimize your worries. Our skilled and friendly coordinators are there to help you and will even arrange for a member of our staff to pay a home visit. They can evaluate your family needs and help create a payment plan that is right for you.

Individual (Out of Pocket) Payment

You can purchase our home health care services by the hour or by the visit. Our staff will investigate all avenues of payment to maximize your coverage, while minimizing and sometimes eliminating out-of-pocket costs.
